ADMISSIONS

PROCEDURES FOR ADMISSIONS

New Students:

1) Fill out and send the application form and registration forms. These can be downloaded from this page by clicking on the appropriate links.

2) We will also need a transcript from the applying students previous school or a completed Home Studies Accreditating Information Form.

3) We will schedule an admissions interview upon receipt of the application.

4) After this interview you will be notified of you acceptance into school, your registration will be confirmed, and a book and supply list will be sent to you.

5) Having received confirmation of your registration, payment of enrollment fee and the first month's tuition are due. St. Nicholas Academy has openings in the seventh grade and high school classes at present.

Returning Students:

3) Having received confirmation of your registration, payment of enrollment fee and the first month's tuition are due. Deadline for these fees are August 16, 2010.

Accreditation for the Home-school Student

A home school student must turn in a Home Studies Accreditation Information Form with his/her application and a registration form at the beginning of his/her academic year. Parents or guardians of the home schooled students must have some college education. Also, the student must have a secluded place for study in his/her home.

It costs $300 to enroll in our accreditation program if you are not taking classes with us and $100 if you are taking classes with us.

If the student is taking classes from an accredited sourced (for instance, Univ. of Nebraska, Seton, or a tutor with a college degree), we need a transcript from that source verifying the student's work.

If the student is receiving instruction from a non-accredited mentor (for example, their parents or home school teachers not working at an accredited institution), the student must supply us with information on the education and experience of the mentor and must come in to take a test quarterly in the subject area to be accredited. The mentor chooses the test and supplies us with an answer key for us to use to grade the test. We supervise the test taking, grade the test, and verify the progress made.

For elective course work such as violin and art, we need mentor education and experience information as well as verification from the mentor of the student's achievement.
