School values

At Saint Nicholas we believe in meeting our students’ academic needs as well as their spiritual, physical, emotional, and creative needs. Our school day reflects our values. Similar to a family, our small school helps students form close relationships, and teachers have time to develop meaningful relationships with students as well.

Outdoor hands on learning

Students are provided stimulating physical and hands-on learning experiences including weekly visits to the Atlanta Zoo, P.E. in Grant Park, weekly garden classes, and occasional classes outdoors. Outdoor classes include walking around the block to learn about finding the perimeter in math or sketching at Oakland Cemetery for art. By frequently learning outside of the classroom, students are able to interact with different environments to help spark a love of learning.

INteractive small group learning

Because of our 7:1 (or better) student-teacher ratio, students receive ample opportunity to participate in class and engage with one another frequently and easily. Teachers are also able get to know each individual student and identify their learning strengths and needs, ensuring students are met exactly at their level and instructed accordingly.
